Frank Butler Park West sits on the Matanzas River side of Anastasia Island. It's the riverside half of the historic Butler Beach property, the side Frank Butler's resort once used for boating, fishing and cookouts.

That's still largely what the park is for. A boat ramp puts boaters and anglers onto the Matanzas River, and picnic pavilions, grills, restrooms and parking make it an easy place to set up a riverside lunch.

Dogs can join you on a leash or restraint no longer than six feet, following posted rules. The park is open from dawn to dusk.
