Type illustration300 Anastasia Park Rd · St. Augustine, FL · 32080
Anastasia State Park covers more than 1,600 acres on Anastasia Island, a landscape of beach, tidal marsh, maritime hammock and ancient sand dunes. Wading birds, including roseate spoonbills, feed along Salt Run, and the park's history reaches back to the quarries that supplied stone for colonial St. Augustine.
Visiting with a dog takes some planning, because pets are not allowed on the beach, on boardwalks or in park buildings. Dogs can join you elsewhere in the park on a handheld leash no longer than six feet, so this is a place to explore the grounds together rather than spend a beach day with your dog. The park also has a campground with 139 sites.
The park is open from 8 am to sunset every day, with an $8 per vehicle entry fee. For current pet rules on specific trails or areas, call the park at 904 461 2033.
