Type illustration1620 Riverside Avenue · Jacksonville, FL · 32204
Operated by Memorial Park
Along Riverside Avenue, Memorial Park opens a six-acre Olmsted Brothers lawn to the St. Johns River, built to honor Floridians lost in World War I and dedicated on Christmas Day 1924. Charles Adrian Pillars' bronze sculpture Life anchors the grounds, and an accessible fishing dock puts you at the water between Margaret Street and Memorial Park Drive near Five Points.
Keep dogs leashed on the lawns and paths. This is a calm riverside stretch for lingering between Five Points and downtown, not an off-leash yard. Come in daylight, take in the river and the memorial setting, then walk into the shops and restaurants just outside the park entrances.
