Vilano Beach

Trade the historic streets for sand, surf and salty air at Vilano Beach, a dog-friendly stretch of Atlantic coastline just north of downtown St. Augustine. Leashed dogs are welcome on the sand and in the water, making it a great place for an oceanfront walk, a sunrise outing or a splash with your pup.

Vilano Beachfront Park provides a convenient starting point with free parking, a dune walkover, restrooms, showers and changing stations. The park also includes a children’s play area, covered performance pavilion and gathering spaces used for community events.

The beachfront park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Dogs must remain on a leash no longer than 12 feet at all times, including in the water, and owners are required to pick up and properly dispose of pet waste.

Limited driving and parking on the beach may be available through nearby vehicle-access ramps. Access depends on tides, weather and sand conditions, and seasonal hours, fees and four-wheel-drive restrictions may apply.
